Pathways to Leadership Ltd., is a not-for-profit organisation, developed by a group of people with a disability and their families. Parent to Parent uses this group for facilitation and training purposes.Mission

Pathways to Leadership, provides people who have a disability and their families
with opportunities to:
• enhance their leadership skills
• facilitate skill enhancement and leadership
• develop personal support networks
• build partnerships with professionals and other allies
• build the capacity of communities to support people with a disability to be
included within, and contribute to, their community
• inform professionals and policy and decision makers about the life
experiences of people with a disability and their families
Principles......
• Leadership by people who have a disability and their families is integral to
the development and engagement of communities, the planning of service
responses and the policy making of government.
• Participatory learning technique and principles facilitated by others with
similar experiences are an effective and empowering approach to adult
education.
• Access to information and skill enhancement enables more effective family
and personal advocacy
• Positive partnerships between people with a disability, their families and
personal networks, professionals and policy and decision makers enhance
each other's life experiences and benefit community.
